Susan Botha

I was born and raised in the Free State( I’m a loyal Cheetah supporter) and being part of a large God fearing – and serving family, it really laid down my foundations and gave me the necessary advantages of facing everyday life and appreciate all things, however small.

I love sport, music, singing, the stage and interacting with people from all walks of life, doing charity work and just getting involved.

I started singing (with a hair brush) at a very young age, first irritating my siblings, later entertaining my friends and family, then joining the worship team at my church. I was involved in various productions and gala events in the Sand du Plessis theatre, and was a vocal coach for the Phillip Kotze Singing School.

I enjoy all types of music, from classical to “boeremusiek”, country to rock.  If it has a story to tell, good lyrics and a nice melody, it will catch my attention.

My broadcasting career started at Radio Rosestad in Bloemfontein. I loved being part of the team and to experience the effect of radio in the community I serve.  Also to be a voice to raise awareness of issues that uplift, inspire and motivate. It humbles me to still be a part of this powerful medium when I joined the Rippel team in the latter part of 2010.  I moved to Pretoria after I was reunited with my long lost love. We got married in December of 2010. I had to learn to fish, as my husband is a exceptional Bass angler, now we enjoy  spending time angling, camping and enjoying life to the fullest...I’m  drinking  from my saucer, because my cup runnith over.

I strive to love, to serve and to be whoever God made me to be. One of my favourite quotations is: ”If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything”  - author unknown
