Who said accountants are boring? Yes, you guessed it - during the week I am crunching numbers and directing operations at an office automation company.
I was born and raised where all the good people are raised – Klerksdorp. Just ask Mariska Rabie! In 1993 I started a 4 year stint at the PUK. During this time I joined Radio PUK doing mid-mornings and lunchtime shows. Intervarsity was held between Potchefstroom and Bloemfontein Universities. During intervarsities, Kovsies used to invite me to spin a few discs and get the weekend party started. All I can say is – “Die boere mag maar partytjie hou”.
I moved to Johannesburg in 1997 but got a transfer to Atlanta, Georgia, USA in 1999. Atlanta is a wonderful city which I can highly recommend. I would often fill my weekends by joining Tom Sullivan in studio on Star94. During 2000 I moved to the UK where the main aim was to do contract work and travel through Europe. All good things must come to an end and at the end of 2001, I returned to South Africa.
Things in fact just got better as I met my wonderful wife Nolene on my return and as the saying goes – “the rest is history”. We got married in 2004 and our little girl, Andrea was born on 08/08/08.
I love international travel (Nolene is the best travel partner a person could wish for), aircraft and music. At home you will mostly find me at my music collection. |
