After matriculating at the Pietersburg Hoërskool, I came to Pretoria to study theology. Soon after my 20th birthday I started my broadcasting career when I started off as a traffic reporter on the afternoon drive time show for Impact Radio.

In October 1995 I joined the Rippel team for the first time as Gospel presenter. After being appointed TV manager and presenter for Impact TV, I left Rippel to focus on the TV work.

In December 2000 I was elected as Councillor for the ACDP in the City Of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. Although I enjoyed politics and local government, my love for broadcasting overpowered me. I resigned as Councillor at the end of May 2005 and started as presenter on Rippel 90.5 FM four weeks later.

I don’t like “white lies”! My motto is to “die empty”.
