I was born in Bulawayo Zimbabwe, but came to South Africa when I was very young. I matriculated at St Anne’s College in Hilton, (KZN) hence the fact that I am a SHARKS fan.
Got my first taste of broadcasting at Rhodes Music Radio, back in the day when we spun records and CDs were not even thought of (am I that old?)
After nearly a decade working at the Department of Foreign Affairs, I joined Rippel 90.5 on
1 August 1995, when we started broadcasting from Kobus Rudolph’s garden studio. Those were fun days, we only had 5 CDs (3 of them were Steve Hofmeyr), and one computer which everyone wanted to use.
We had dogs that used to bite guests, roosters that crowed at inopportune moments and being locked out of the studio!
I am a speech and drama teacher in the afternoons and give classes at nursery and primary schools in Pretoria.
I love traveling, especially visiting overseas. My hobbies are reading (everything), crossword puzzles, and watching reality television. My favourite drink is lime and soda and my favourite food is a good curry.
I am married to a wonderfully patient and tolerant man, Ian, and have two fantastic children, Sarah-Jean and Andrew.
