It’s back to the evergreen 80s and beyond when Born To Run takes to the stage at The Barnyard Theatre at Menlyn Park from 28 February to 30 April 2006. The Barnyard Theatre Productions teams up with Ian von Memerty for the sequel to the hit show Glory Days.
Once again inspired by the Bruce Springsteen classic song Born to Run, we see the continuing adventures of the loveable nerd Wally who has itchy feet. He has always secretly harboured the desire to be the greatest rock star of all time, Bruce Springsteen, and the music guides you through his travels, highs and lows.
Our journey with Wally takes us through hits of the 80s and also delves into anthems from more recent decades. Audiences can expect music from the likes of U2, Toto, Lionel Ritchie, Tina Turner and Billy Idol, with hits such as Eye Of The Tiger, Private Dancer, Reggae Nights and Eternal Flame. The three dynamic lead vocalists are backed by a six-piece band consisting of keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums, saxophone and trumpet.
The show has been devised by Duck Chowles and will be directed and scripted by Ian von Memerty.
